كُلُّ نَفۡسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۗ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوۡنَ أُجُورَكُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۖ فَمَن زُحۡزِحَ عَنِ ٱلنَّارِ وَأُدۡخِلَ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ فَقَدۡ فَازَۗ وَمَا ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَآ إِلَّا مَتَٰعُ ٱلۡغُرُورِ
Transliteration Kullu Nafsin Zaikatul Maut:
Kullu nafsin za’iqatul maut; wa innamaa tuwaffawna ujoorakum Yawmal Qiyaamati faman zuhziha ‘anin Naari wa udkhilal Jannata faqad faaz; wa mal hayaatud dunyaaa illaa mataa’ul ghuroor.

According to Tafseer As Sa’adi
This verse emphasizes the reality of this world to discourage people from becoming overly preoccupied with it because of its fleeting nature. This world is a vanity that dazzles with its adornment and deceives with its ostentatious displays, but it will pass away and people will enter the realm of eternity, where they will be compensated for what they did in this world, whether it was good or bad.
(Whoever is saved), that is, brought out [from the fire and admitted to paradise, will have triumphed), that is, he will have attained the greatest victory of escaping from the eternal punishment and arriving at the gardens of delight where there is that which no eye has seen, no ear has heard, and which has never crossed a man’s mind.
According to this scripture, anyone is not spared from the fire and let into paradise has not won; rather, he is destined for an eternity of sorrow and torment.
This verse alludes subtly to the joy and punishment in Al-Barzakh and the fact that people will partially get their just rewards or just punishments for their actions in this world.
This is clear from the wording, and you will only receive full payment [for your activities] on the Day of Resurrection.
In other words, there won’t be complete atonement for one’s acts until the Day of Resurrection; before then, there will be partial atonement in Al-Barzakh and even in this world, as Allah states elsewhere:
We will surely cause them to taste a lesser punishment before the greater punishment. Surah as-Sajdah 32: 21
Tafsir From Ma’Ariful Quran
The verse lays a clear emphasis on the ultimate truth of events in a scenario where unbelievers get someplace and enjoy ascendancy in one manner or another while enjoying every luxury they could possibly imagine in this world.
In contrary to this, Muslims have some hardships, challenges, and a relative lack of material resources.
Nothing about it is unexpected, and there is certainly no cause for grief because no follower of a religion or philosophy can deny the universal truth that both happiness and sorrow are transient.
No living creature can escape death.
About the ease and discomfort felt in this world, they frequently leave immediately upon the occurrence of pertinent changes in circumstances, or, just in case, all will come to an end with the knock of death.
Hence, the persistent worry of a sensible person should not be this transient cycle of ease and anguish.
Instead, one should be worried about what would happen after death.
Every living thing will eventually experience death, and there will be a terrible and drawn-out reward and retribution for one’s actions in the hereafter.
A sensible person should be concerned about and ready for this. According to this code of behavior, the successful person is the one who avoids Hell and finds energy in Paradise.
It’s possible that this occurs straight away, as it did for Allah’s most upright slaves.
Alternatively, it may happen after suffering some sort of punishment, as would be the case with Muslims who commit sins. The blessings of Paradise will be forever theirs and Muslims, all of them, will finally be freed from Hell.
Contrary to what really occurs, those who reject Islam will spend eternity in Hell.
If they were haughty about their fleeting material advantages, they were gravely misled.
Hence, it was said at the verse’s conclusion:
“And the existence of this earth is nothing but a possession, full of delusion.”
The structure of this deceit is peculiar since careless material indulgences here lead to severe suffering in the Hereafter, but much of the suffering experienced here turns out to be a treasure in the Hereafter.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir
Allah issues a general and encompassing statement that every living soul shall taste death.
In another statement, Allah said,
Everything that is on it (the earth) will die. And your Lord’s majestic and honorable face will endure eternally. Surah Ar Rahman :26-27
As a result, only Allah is Ever-Living and Never Dies, but Jinn, humans, and angels—including those who occupy Allah’s Throne—all pass away.
The Irresistible One and Only shall endure alone for all of the time, continuing as First as He did from the beginning.
As every soul that lives on the planet will eventually die, this Ayah gives solace to all creation.
Allah will order the Day of Resurrection to begin after this life’s span is through, the sons of Adam are no longer producing offspring, and this world has come to an end.
And Allah will compensate the creation for all of their acts, no matter how tiny or large, numerous or few, or large or small. Indeed, Allah would not treat anybody unfairly, not even an atom’s weight, which is why He stated,
You won’t receive your entire salary until the Day of the Resurrection.
Allah stated:
Everyone who is expelled from the Fire and allowed into Paradise is successful in this regard.
So, the ultimate success will belong to whoever avoids the Fire, is delivered from it, and is admitted into Paradise.
According to Ibn Abi Hatim’s account of Abu Hurayra, the Prophet of Allah said:
The universe and everything in it are inferior to a little space in Paradise like the one a whip occupies.
Whoever is let into Paradise and taken out of the Fire is, in fact, successful.

By Allah,
The only happiness in this world is found in deceit.
minimizing the worth of this life and downplaying its significance. As Allah has spoken, this existence is brief, limited, and unending.
(Nay, you prefer the life of this world. Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. (87:16-17)
And whatever you have is for you to enjoy the world and its adornment in the hereafter, which is greater and lasts forever when it is spent with Allah. (28:60)
A Hadith states,
Dear Allah! This existence is as inconsequential in comparison to the Hereafter as when one of you drops his finger in the water; let him wonder what his finger will return with.
Qatadah commented on Allah’s statement,
(The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception).
“Life is wonderful. It will soon disappear from its people, according to Allah, other than Whom there is no deity. Thus, if you can, draw obedience to Allah from this joy. Indeed, Allah alone possesses all authority.
